 The Reporting and Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of business-critical analysis of data to multiple groups. The analyst will serve as the liaison between the business and our technical teams to translate requirements for reporting applications. This individual will work with partners inside and outside the company to provide meaningful reports and interpretation of data to help drive business decisions.  This individual will be working with large and complex data sets and must have a clear understanding of the full data ecosystem from source to presentation layer.


Analytical Experience

4-5 years of experience analyzing data and drawing insightful conclusions from the data

Able to identify patterns and anomalies in the data to understand their implications

Able to move from the abstract to the detailed, and from details to “big picture”

Ability to use business judgement to guide analysis from the data and synthesize into concise and clear communications


Reporting Experience

4-5 years reporting experience involving both adhoc, fast turnaround requests and longer-term scheduled reporting based upon large data sets and complex queries

Can manipulate and condense large volumes of data into succinct and powerful visualizations (graphs, charts, diagrams, dashboards, pivot tables, etc)

Can clearly convey the key insights or “story” the data reveals in a visual format that is grouped, summarized, or formatted to be easily understood

Experience reporting out of a transactional database and not solely a static pre-aggregated reporting environment

1+ years of hands-on experience with a Data Query Business Intelligence Software such as Business Objects, Cognos, Endeca

Able to research and recommend innovative ways to present data to our customers



4-5 years of strong SQL skills utilizing complex queries in a large data warehouse environment such as Oracle, DB2, and/or Teradata

2+ years of strong Excel skills, including pivots, vlookups, conditional formatting, large record sets

1+ years Unix experience with file manipulations and running SQL scripts



Strong business analysis skills, particularly around requirements gathering including facilitation, interviewing, and communication skills

Experience working successfully with business customers to translate initial requests into what the customer is truly asking for

Work with business and cross-functional teams to thoroughly document reporting processes, systems, business requirements, and functional specifications for reporting applications and systems

Able to work with partners from other countries, including dealing successfully with language and cultural differences
